Julie Martin, Business Change Delivery Lead

Meet Julie Martin, Business Change Delivery Lead. Julie joined Enstar six years ago and has been making a big impact on Enstar’s operations across the business.

What attracted you to join Enstar?
I joined Enstar on a six-month contract to manage Business Readiness for a project in relation to a Part VII transfer from a leading multinational insurance firm. It was a challenging project with multiple migrations and touchpoints across many parts of the business. Following the project I was asked to stay on to support some other really interesting initiatives. During this time, I was the only Business Project Manager working at Enstar, as projects had historically been led by IT.

Enstar recognised the value that business change could bring and asked me to launch a new Business Change function. This really appealed to me, and I enjoyed working herewith such a great team of people. It is not very often you get that sort of opportunity.

Tell me about the world of Business Change at Enstar
Over the past three years we have grown to become a team of twelve, Project Managers and Business Analysts. We support the delivery of EU and Group Change and working on projects, including supporting large regulatory changes or new systems implementations and smaller changes like providing light-touch project governance.

What advice do you have for someone just getting started at Enstar?
Be curious, ask questions, explore different parts of the business and don’t be shy to get involved. Everyone is really helpful and folks are always happy to share their knowledge and experience. It’s important to have a voice! Seize the opportunity to contribute – there are lots of ways to get involved.

In what ways does Enstar support your work / life balance?
Enstar is very flexible, we have an agile working policy that enables people to work from home and flex around their personal needs. We also have a number of support groups to help employees, and we have a great variety of wellness benefits available to all staff.

What’s your favourite thing about working at Enstar?
Definitely the people. There are so many bright people here and you can learn so much even in small conversations and interactions. Everyone is busy but also very generous with their time. Collaboration and teamwork is one of Enstar’s greatest strengths.
